Clayton, Idaho. Pop. 27. June 2001.

Clayton is a small collection of houses, bars, and cafes along Idaho Highway 75 between Challis and Stanley. It sits on the bank of the Salmon River, deep in the Salmon River Canyon, at the mouth of Kinikinnick Creek.

Wolf packs have formed in the vicinity of Clayton on all sides since the late 1990s. Amusingly, local newspapers have often run stories about how wolves are encroaching on the area and don't belong such populated surroundings. Does it look populated to you?
