Marsh Creek and Bear Valley Creek are the headwater streams of the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Its headwaters are at Blind Summit, a very subtle watershed divide, about ten miles north of the small town of Stanley.

Marsh Creek has sporadically been a hot spot, favored by numerous wolf packs.

From May until mid-June visitors can see an incredible number of elk on the meadows of Marsh Creek.
