The Sawtooth Valley is a scenic, 20-mile long valley situated between the Sawtooth Range on its west and the White Cloud Mountains on its east, with the Smoky and Boulder Mountains on the south. It is the largest high mountain valley in Idaho. All of it became part of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) in 1972. It has been inhabited by one or more wolf packs ever since 1998.

To many this place is the most classic Idaho scenery.
