View from Specimen Ridge down to Little America.

Specimen Ridge rises on the south side of the Lamar Valley. It runs generally east to west for about 10 miles. Specimen Ridge is notable for its many petrified trees and for its wildlife -- wolves, bears, and elk. It forms the backdrop for hundreds of thousands of days of Lamar Valley wolf watching.

Specimen Ridge winter from near Soda Butte cone.
