Montana Anti-wolf activist seems to change view about
wolves in effort to sell his property.

This is a pretty funny story. Robert Fanning of Paradise Valley, MT, about 20 miles north of Yellowstone Park, is the leading anti-wolf activist in Montana. He is the head of the Friends of Northern Range Elk Herd, who have argued strenuously that wolves have killed off most of the elk and other wildlife in the area. Fanning, however is selling his 41-acre place. Either he or his real estate agent seem to have now decided wolves nearby might be a selling point as well as the rest of the wildlife, which has suddenly become abundant again.
But read Todd Wilkinson's column. He tells the story much better.
"Rancher changes tune about wolves in real estate ad." By Todd Wilkinson. regional columnist and author. In Headwaters News. This column was also published in the Jackson Holes News and Guide, but not put on-line.
Update 9-1-04. Here is the link to Fanning's place-for-sale: The Next Right Thing Ranch. Price: $1,100,000
