Secretary Babbitt revisits Yellowstone

Crystal Creek pack renamed "Mollies Pack."

Jan. 14, 2001

As he enters his last week in office, Secretary of Interior Bruce Babbitt is in Yellowstone celebrating one of the highlights of his tenure -- the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone and central Idaho. Also in honor of the director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the time, the late Mollie Beattie, the Crystal Creek Pack, which has not been at Crystal Creek since 1996, has been renamed "Mollies Pack."

Babbitt saw the Druids and even a grizzly bear showed up for the occasion in a rare mid-winter awakening.
