USFWS wolf manager for Wyoming said to "trespass" on private property while radio-collaring wolves.

I think folks will be astonished to read this article.
Rancher: Wolf agent 'trespassed'. The Cody Enterprise. Feb. 26, 2004
By Buzzy Hassrick.Meeteetse, Wyoming is very isolated place where rumors of government plots and black helicopters abound, and where some folks seem to have enough time on their hands in the winter to get strange ideas.
Mike Jimenez and Wes Livingston were doing exactly what anyone would expect wolf biologists to do when they have darted wolves from a helicopter. They had four members of the Washakie Pack laid out, working fast to collect biological data on the wolves, keep the wolves physiologically stable while sedated, and collar them before the wolves woke up.
The event happened about in middle of section 34 (see below)

This area is almost all BLM (public land). There is, however, about a quarter mile of private land along Gooseberry Creek. According the Ed Bangs, they thought there were landing on BLM land, but made an accidental trespass.
It is interesting that this is the furtherest east the Washakie Pack has been tracked. It usually winters in the Horse Creek/Wiggins Fork area about 30 miles to the west. In this Hillberry Rim country there are seemingly innumerable mule and white-tailed deer. It is a spot where many think chronic wasting disease will soon show up if not present already. It is also an area that is prime for cougar.
Another story about the local mentality, see: "Bounty nets 475 coyotes." By Buzzy Hassrick. Cody Enterprise. There are quite a few people in Park County, Wyoming who have a very different perception of the world than the figures in these two stories, so I would caution the people around the world who read this article not to overgeneralize.
