This is a map furnished by a friend of part of the Shadow Mountain area.
He has drawn in the Forest Service proposal, showing how it begins in Ditch Creek, uses an old Forest Service abandoned tree nursery road to climb through the Teton Science School's summer camp. Then it follows an illegally constructed ATV trail up the to the ridgetop. From the ridgetop it follows a long abandoned road to Hardiman Number 2 dam and downslope into Grand Teton National Park where they have an illegal "play area" in prime wildlife habitat. The Park Service can't get enforcement people in there except at major cost.
Once they get on these ridgetops, they can ride illegally for miles with little chance they will run into a ranger.
That's why its what's on the ground, not the map, that matters, and that's what the Forest Service needs to hear.
