1-6-04
Because this web site is increasingly a data base when searched by Google or other engines, I am adding the following wolf numbers and events of recent interest -- 283F, 284F, 285M, 323F, 334M, 360F, 362F, 364F, 365M, 366?, B144MSunlight Basin Pack-
Number given to black pup collared -- 360FLone Bear Pack-
Two member wolves killed after 25 sheep depredated -- yearling 362F and adult 285M. Two remaining Lone Bear wolves have collars and numbers -- 283F and 284F.Sheep Mountain Pack-
Three wolves "controlled" Dec. 21 after depredations. Numbers given were 364F, gray adult female, 365M, black male yearling, 366?, gray (sex and age unknown). Sheep Mountain Pack size is now 6+ wolves. There was no sign of mange in the 3 Sheep Mountain Pack wolves that were killed.Dispersal/mating season is underway.
Wolf 323F may have paired with Sheep Mountain 334M. 323F was captured as a lone wolf on the Flying D Ranch earlier this year. This pair has been wandering all over Paradise Valley and the surrounding area.Wolf from Idaho-
A wolf dispersed from Idaho (west of Salmon), B144M. He may (or may not) be associating with the Lone Bear Pack. Note that all GYE original wolves' numbers are prefixed with "R," so wolf 364F is really wolf "R364F."
