The Lemhi Valley
The Lemhi Valley lies to northeast of the Lemhi Mountains. It is the most developed of the four great valleys around the Lemhi Range. Nevertheless, the population density is still low, despite some recreational subdivisions. Most of the people live near the mouth of the valley in the vicinity of the town of Salmon, Idaho.
The Lemhi River drains northward down the valley. A few salmon still come up the Lemhi from the ocean to spawn.
